Honestly, I didn't think this would be good when I made it. I threw some ingredients together and hoped for the best. Well, let me tell you, it was delicious! My daughter had a friend over when I made it and they both devoured it. This has now become a staple in our dinner rotation, and it's affordable to make!
THE DETAILS:
1 pound ground beef
1 15oz can of Pork n Beans
2/3 cup of barbeque sauce of choice
3 tablespoons brown sugar
1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese (if you buy the block and shred yourself it's so much better!)
1 can of 5 count biscuits (or you can make your own)
YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Heat your oven to 350 degrees and place the biscuits on a baking sheet. Bake until ALMOST done, but not fully baked. They will be going back in the oven, so you don't want to over bake.
In a large skillet, brown the ground beef and then add the beans, barbeque sauce and brown sugar.
Stir and heat thoroughly. Pour into a greased casserole dish and sprinkle the cheese over the top.
Now here is where is gets a little weird. I like my biscuits cooked all the way through and with this type of food, a little crispy. I HALVED each biscuit and placed the baked side down, leaving the middle facing up. This way, the baked part does not get soggy, and the inside gets baked.
Bake until the cheese is melted and the biscuits are fully baked.
