Chicken Pesto Pizza

We love pizza but get tired of eating our usual cheese or meat lovers. I made this one night and it has become a staple lunch or dinner in our home. It's full of flavor and is way more filling than a regular pizza. Instead of making homemade dough, I save some time by buying the frozen pizza dough balls. Once thawed, it is just like homemade dough! You can always make your own, but I try to save time when I can!
THE DETAILS:
1 pound pizza dough ball
Flour for dusting
1/2 cup basil pesto
1 cup shredded fontina cheese
1/2 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
1/3 cup shredded parmesan cheese
1.5 cups shredded chicken (I cook mine in the crockpot...........so tender!)
1 teaspoon garlic powder
1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
Pinch of red pepper flakes
YOUR ASSIGNMENT:
Pre-heat oven to 425 degrees. If using a pizza stone, heat that up.
On a lightly floured surface, roll your dough to a 12" circle with a rolling pin (floured) or you can use your hands to shape.
For a crispy crust, bake the dough PRIOR to putting any toppings on until it starts to brown on the edges. For a regular crust, you can add the toppings without baking first.
Add the pesto and spread evenly leaving a 1" border.
Sprinkle the fontina cheese evenly over the pesto, then the shredded chicken.
Sprinkle the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and red pepper flakes (if using) over the chicken. Then top with the mozzarella and parmesan.
Bake in the pre-heated oven until the cheese is melted and starts turning a golden brown.
Top with some chopped basil if you are feeling fancy. Slice and enjoy!
